We have folder redirection for Documents and Desktop folders configured. From time to time it happens that access to this file server (where documents and desktop is stored) is slow, very slow. In such cases opening word, excel or any other office application take around 2 minutes. Using process monitor (from sysinternals) I was able to see that when excel\word is opening it tries to access \\networkshare\document and \\networkshare\desktop
