Close all Open documents ?

Luke Williams

Hi,

Using Windows MS Word XP. I work with many documents at the same time. Is
there a way or a Ctrl-Key which would allow me to close all open documents
without asking me to save each and every one of them?

thanks,

Luke

Hi Luke-

Hold the Shift key while you go to the File Menu -- the Close comand will
read as Close All. You will still be prompted to save any docs that have been
modified since they were last saved.

You can use a macro something like this:

Sub CloseAll()
Dim oDoc As Document
For Each oDoc In Documents
oDoc.Activate
ActiveDocument.Close SaveChanges:=wdSaveChanges
Next oDoc
End Sub

You can first do Save All (holding down the shift key for the file menu).
Note, though, this will save any changes made to normal.dot as well. I don't
know that Greg Maxey's macro would do that.
