Closing Chart Line

I have a chart in Excel 2010 where I have a few missing data points
that obviously show gaps in the plot line. Is there any way to "force"
Excel to "close" these gaps and show a contiguous line?

Hi Bill,
I just tried (in XL2007) to create a chart from this data set:
Date Num
01-Jan 1
08-Jan 2
15-Jan 4
22-Jan 8
29-Jan 16
05-Feb 32
12-Feb 16

26-Feb 4
05-Mar 2
12-Mar 1

i.e. missing the 19th Feb data point and the chart created had no gaps
(admittedly it drew a straight line from 12th Feb to 26th Feb with no fancy
interpolation) So I can't replicate your issue.

Only thing I noticed was that by right-clicking on the line and picking
"Select Data..." there was a button in that dialog box labelled "Hidden and
Empty Cells" which seemed to give options on how to deal with missing data.

hth, Sheriff
