Closing down office 2003

When I exit Office 2003 it does not completely close down. How do I force a
complete exit? I want to use Briefcase on my laptop for my .pst files but it
reports that they are locked on the desktop.

FRUSTRATED TO THE BITTER END!!!

you may need to pull up the task manager, and click on the process tab.
sometimes some of the office programs are running (hidden) in the background.
that would be one way to shut it down. as for the briefcase on the desktop,
check the properties on it to make sure that it isn't in read-only.
or you can try and move the briefcase itself into the My Documents folder
and then transfer the .pst files from there.
