Closing wizard catalog -error in MSPUB.exe 2000

Just installed Office 2000 onto Win XP Pro. Fully updated
both via Win Update, Off Update.
Open Publisher, cancel catalogue. Generates error to send
to microsoft:
Module : MSPUB.exe Ver 6.0.1.438
at address 0x000a37d2.

Same version works fine on another different laptop.

Anyone have any idea. Searched MS - no joy.

Does it work if you start Windows in Safe Mode?

No, it doesn't work in Safe Mode. It gives exactly the
same error message.
