I have signed a COM add-in DLL using "signcode -cn OurCompany -sp chain
OurAddIn.dll", and I also tried using "-sp spcstore". When I view the DLL
properties on Windows 2000 or XP, the Digital Signatures tab appears, I can
click "View Certificate" and see the full certification path.
When the add-in loads in Excel maximum macro security, I get the "Security
Warning" dialog. If I press the "Details..." button, Excel XP on Windows XP
works correctly, and shows the full certification path, but Excel 2000 on
Windows 2000 displays a dialog with the Certification Information "Windows
does not have enough information to verify this certificate." and the
Certification Path shows only the certificate itself.
Note that the systems have not had _any_ service packs or hotfixes applied,
because we can't be sure our clients will apply them. Is there any way to
prevent this problem?
Thanks,
Aaron Queenan.
