Coding for Photo-Gallery Slideshow Effect

M

Melinda

Hello everyone! I'm a novice Frontpage user and need some help with
the Photo-Gallery Slideshow Effect.

I am looking for advice on how to edit the code such that the large
image showing (not thumbnails) or the text in the description field
can be made clickable to a new page that is SEPARATE from the
PhotoGallery page. (If both the photo and the description can be make
clickable that would be great.
Each individual picture in the slide show needs to be able to have its
own clickable link to an outside page.
I need to be able to replicate this 1000's of times. I don't want an
alternative slideshow program. I would prefer for it to be
FrontPage.
Specifically what code needs to be changed in the pages created in
the corresponding photogallery folder (real.htm, real_p.htm,
real_x.htm) as well as any code from the actual page the gallery
appears. I will email the folder location to review the code.

Here is the folder that contains the pages I believe need editing.

Thank you so much for your advise!

Best way forward is to forget about the FrontPage slideshow. It does not
work in any browser other than Internet Explorer, and cannot be easily
edited to do as you wish - as soon as you save the page FrontPage will
accuse you of changing a webbot, and replace your code with the original.

jAlbum ( http://jalbum.net ) has many more options than the FrontPage
gallery, and may succeed where the FrontPage galleries fail.

Thanks for an option to FP gallery, and from the address listed below this
looks like a good product.
Does the album actually go "inside FP coding" or do you have to link to
jalbum and keep your photos on jalbum's site?
Thanks again for such a good answer.

The best method is to construct your album in a folder on the PC, then
File->Import the complete folder into FrontPage and link to the default page
in that folder. You don't have to store your album on jAlbum's site.

Melinda,
See if you can contact TREVOR LAWRENCE he developed and wrote a complete
slideshow for me and it works great. See if he will reply to you if you make
the message to him. Lives down under and is not always available.

Tony,

Thanks for the recommendation and hello again.

Melinda,
I think Tony is happy with it, but I have made a few small changes which I
haven't yet added into the slideshow I sent to Tony.

You can see what mine now looks like on
http://tandcl.homemail.com.au/album.html . Click on Personal Picture Album,
then Slideshow 1 or Slideshow 2. Both are a bit old.

I also recommend JAlbum, which I use in http://ratec.actbus.net/album.html .
Click on any underlined album

BTW, I am going to the other side of the (Australian) continent for 10 days
next week, so may not have a lot of free time
