Collaboration with more than one leader

In our organization, there may be instances where more than one person works
with a schedule. A scheduler may create and maintain the schedule, but a
functional lead will want to monitor schedule statusing. Is there a way to
make it so that when a team member updates his tasks, the update is sent to
someone other than the project owner, or at least to both the owner and
another?

To accomplish this, the PM would need to assign each task to the appropriate
functional lead. The functional lead would then need to delegate the task
to the appropriate resource and choose to maintain the Lead Role when doing
the actual delegation process. This way, actuals from the resource will go
to the lead for approval, who would then update the actuals to the PM. Do
know, however, that task delegation is a "one to one" process in which the
functional lead for the task can delegate that task to only one resource.

If your organization is using managed time periods with the timesheet
approval process in place, then those who are in the Resource Managers group
can approve timesheets for the resources directly below them in the RBS
outline code structure. Hope this helps.

I understand the first part of your statement and that does help. The second
part I'm not sure of. Are you saying that if I have an RBS structure in
place, that when a team member inputs their time into PWA and then clicks
"Update All", that the person or people that are directly above them in the
RBS will be notified of the update and have the opportunity to accept the
updates through PWA? If so, is the project owner also notified?

No, that is not what I am saying. By what you say, it sounds like your
organization is not using Managed Time Periods with Timesheet Approval
enabled in Project Server, so please ignore what I said about it. Hope this
helps.
