collapsible list

Chris Rohan

I am trying to create a collapsible list. I am following
the frontpage help commands exactly, but the list will
not collapse in the preview screen or when you open the
page within IE or Netscape. Does anyone have any ideas
as to what may be wrong?

Chris,

Right click on your list and select List Properties Look
for the check box for "Initially Collapsed" Check this and
it should convert to collapsed after opening.

One of mine opens full and reverts to collapsed after the
page loads.

Hi Chris,

The problem might be as simple as...
What you are expecting...

1. Car
2. Train

Type of list will not collapse ...
BUT!!

1. Car
1. Ford
2. Dodge

Will collapse to look like

1. Car

Until you click on the "Car" and then the others will show...

NOW another problem is that you need to know that you can click on them.
(The cursor doesn't change from I beam) SO...

In the HTML pane, locate the <UL dynamicoutline initcollapsed> tag, which is
the start of the collapsible list.

How?
On the Edit menu, click Find.
Type "<UL dynamicoutline initcollapsed>" (without the quotation marks) in
the Find what: box.
Click Find Next.

Modify the first <LI> tag to read <LI STYLE="cursor:hand">.

Save the page and click Preview in Browser.
When you position the mouse pointer over the list, it will display as a
pointing finger instead of an I-beam.
