Collect and update data via E-mail

I can create a table and use the new collect and update data via e-mail
option to update the datasbe without any problems.

If I import and create a new table from a query ifrom another access
database I do not get the Update table option just the create new row (table
is local and has data)

What signals the ability to update the table? It is a local table and I
have data in it. The only way I can get this option is to manually create a
new table. I also tried linking but I do not get the update option. Any
suggestions as how this works?
