Color coding of tasks in My Tasks view

Can anyone tell me what the color coding means on the tasks listed in the My
Tasks view? I am referring to the vertical color bar along the right hand
side of the first column where the information icons are located.

It looks like you get a green bar for new tasks (along with the "New!" tag).
Once I open a new task the green bar disappears. There are other tasks that
have a yellow bar and I have no idea what that means.

Any help is appreciated.
