Color matching in PowerPoint

I'm trying to create some custom graphics in PowerPoint and I'm having
difficulty matching the color to other graphics. For instance, I want to
match the color of my PPT-created graphics & shapes to images I've created in
Photoshop, which will also be shown in the presentation.

I tried entering the RGB Values: I got the RGB values from the Photoshop
graphic. I then entered the values in the area provided in: Format Autoshape

Colors & Lines > Fill Color > More Colors > Custom. The colors did not

match.

I can sit there for an eternity and tweak various values, but this is an
inexact method and very time consuming. The solution on a Mac would be very
simple -- PowerPoint for OSX has a feature where you use a looking glass to
match the color to any area shown on your screen (much like the Dropper tool
in Photoshop). Does PowerPoint for Windows have this function? Does anyone
know of any other way to easilly match colors?

[Note: the "CTRL+SHIFT+C" copy attributes/formatting feature won't work
because the source is an image imported into PPT.]

I encounter the same situation on the daily basis (import Photoshop elements
and need to match PPT colors to them). Try the 'color picker' add-in from
pptXtreme (www.pptxtreme.com) - costs a few dollars but a huge time saver!

The other option is to use a small application like Pixie, which gives you
the color value of an item, so you can enter it into the PPT custom color
palette. There is a link to it on this page:
