I'm using Excel 97 and Word 00. When I select cells or text the selection is
distinguished by a specific color, in this case black. I want to change that
color to light blue or grey so when I select cells in Excel I can see the
grid lines.

Hi, emrobertson;
This is a Windows setting: Start> Control Panel> Display> Appearance (and
perhaps Advanced)> Item> Selected Items. Choose your color there.
