"Color Typewriter" animation slower in '07 than '03

My company has rolled-out an Office '07 pilot, and I've noticed a
drastic decrease in visual performance when viewing animated slides
I've created in the '03 version of PPT. Specifically, the color
typewriter effect performs more sluggishly.

I've read the thread regarding "print drivers" as the fix, but I'm
still curious as to why there is a difference in performance between
the two versions when the environment (my desktop configuration, the
network...) has not changed. Is PPT using a different method for
rendering animations? Have the recommended system requirements been
radically changed?

While I have the help desk looking into the matter, I'm curious to see
if there has been similar feedback.

Hi

Have you tried the local printer driver fix? Office 07 relies far more
heavily on the printer driver than previous versions so you can have odd
problems on a system running 07 compared to exactly the same system running
03. We don't know why MS have done it this way, we just try to help with the
fallout
