Tell me when team member come in "My tasks page" of project server 2007.
some tasks dates are showing in pink colour and some in white . what is the
difference b/w them ?

When the team member submit the timesheet to timesheet manager . how the
timesheet manager knows that the team member submit the timesheet and how the
team member knows that timesheet manager approved the tasks.
with out open web access.

please reply me soon of both thses questions.

The My Tasks page uses the following color key:

-- Red indicates that the task is late (current date is later than the
Finish date). It looks pink, but Microsoft says the color is red.
-- Orange indicates that the Finish date of the task is approaching in the
current week.
-- White indicates that the Finish date of the task is in the future
beyond the current week.

To answer your second question, I assume your organization is using the My
Timesheet functionality to capture time and the My Tasks page to capture
task progress. Assuming this is true, the answer to your question is there
is no way to know either of these without the user opening the Internet
Explorer and navigating to PWA. Hope this helps.

Dale--
how about using email.
can we do that? i mean...if team member submit their timesheet, does RM will
get email from submitting timesheet?
also, can team member will get message/email if RM reject/approve timesheet?
Using PS 2007

thanks

I do not believe that the timesheet manager receives an e-mail message when
resources submit a Timesheet to him/her. On the other hand, by default,
project managers receive an e-mail message whenever a team member submits a
task update in a project. Team members only get an e-mail if their
timesheet manager rejects a Timesheet, or their project manager rejects a
task update.

Based on your recent questions, I would strongly encourage you to begin
developing the processses that everyone uses with Project Server 2007. This
means that you should establish for team members when and how they submit
Timesheet and task updates. For example, you might mandate that team
members enter time on their My Timesheet page on a daily basis, submit their
Timesheet every Friday, and import their task updates into the My Tasks page
and submit the task updates on Friday as well. This means you should also
establish when and how timesheet managers apporve Timesheets, and when and
how project managers approve task updates. Beyond this, if you have not
already done so by now, I would strongly recommend that you secure a project
sponsor who has the authority to enforce the processes you establish.

Remember that the greatest challenges to implementing Project Server 2007
are not the hardware and the software; the challenges are people and
process. And remember that it only takes a few people who won't follow your
processes to totally screw up your Project Server 2007 environment and your
project management environment as well. OK, lecture over; time to get back
to work! Hope this helps.
