column headings with data starting in row 1

Mrs. E.

Is there a way to have headings on the columns and start the
data entry at Row 1?, instead of Row 2?

You can show A, B, C, ... or 1, 2, 3, ... or nothing at all for the column
headings.

But you can't change them.

I just put my own headers in row 1 and then I select A2 and hit Window|Freeze
panes (xl2003 menus). This way, my headers in row 1 will always be visible when
I scroll down.
