Columns don't work in web view

Word 2000. I created a document with several sections. Each section has a
list of many names, and I put each section into 3 columns. Looks fine as a
Word document, but when I click "Save as web page", the htm file is only one
long column in each section. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Bobbi

HTML doesn't natively have any provision for columns. You can get
columns via tables (old-fashioned way) or CSS and a few divs (modern,
and IMO better, way). If you're trying to do this from Word, about the
only way to achieve what you want is to put the list into a table of
three columns before you export to HTML.

Note that no matter what method you use, the resulting columns won't
be fluid: if you add text to the first column, the extra text at the
bottom won't flow to the top of the second column.

Martha-

Thanks for the info. At least I know I wasn't doing anything wrong.
