I have a subreport that I would like to only be 2.5 inches long. It can't
take of any more space. However, I have a list of 15 items that won't fit in
2.5 inches. I would like the list to go for 2.5 and then wrap to another
column and hopefully have three columns going across.

If I use the page setup for columns, when I add the subreport to my report,
my report ends up with three columns. I only want the columns in the
subreport.

Can someone help me. I've been pulling my hair out trying to figure this out.

Margaret,
Make your Main report Page Setup 1 Column (Normal).
The subReport is where you need to specify 3 Columns. Use the Page Setup
for the subreport for your Columns... Not the Main, and also specify "Down
and then Across"

In my main report, I went to page setup and have one column. In my
subreport I went to page setup and have three columns. When I preview both,
reports they are what I want, however, when I put the subreport into the main
report, I get one comlumn. It's like it's looking at the main report and
using that page setup and ignoring the page setup for the subreport.

What are your Page Setup (Columns tab) settings for your subreport.

Column Width should be about 2.25 inches for 3 columns across (with
Gutters).
The subreport should be just the width of one column... not 7.5 inches or
so.
Also, make sure your subreport (on the main form) is set to Can Grow = No...
(Yes would ignore the column settingscolumns.)

Margaret,
I just tested out a subreport with 3 columns. I set the Columns to 3 and
the Column Width to 1.5", Gutter to .25", and the CanGrow for the subreport
itself to No.
It works OK.

thanks for your help. When I changed the CanGrow on the subreport to "no"
everything worked like I wanted.
