Combo Boxes turn to Graphics After Opening in Windows Version

OK, here's the Challenge. I've built a forecasting worksheet in Excel X
(Mac) that has some combo boxes in it. You know, drop-down lists
from which to select options like a given location and month. They
work fine in the Mac version but when I share them with Windows users
and they send them back after working on them, the combo boxes are
no longer functional, they turn into graphics.

For these kinds of functions, there seems to be some incompatibility
problems.

Is there a work-around for this? The Windows version is Excel 97

Hi

There have been updates for both the Mac and Windows versions of Office
since each was released.

Download and install the 10.1.2 and 10.1.4 updates for Office X for the Mac,
then simply open and re-save the documents then send them to the Windows
users.

The Windows users need to install updates for Office 97.

Once everyone is up to date then everybody's Excel should work OK.

Jim,
Thanks for the response. I do have the Mac Office Updates installed.
The Windows 97 apps are part of a corporate license running on NT
and I don't have the Admin Privilages to do the updates. I'll have to
work it through the IT dept. Ugha...
