Has anyone successfully logged onto Comcast newgroups using Entourage?
Nothing I try seems to work.
Entourage 2004 11.3.6
OS 10.4.10
Using the server settings found here:
http://www.comcast.net/newsgroups/>
When trying to connect, server appears to be downloading the list of
newsgroups, but then give the following error:
"The server for account "Comcast News Server" returned the error "Access
Denied via @comcast.net auth server." Your username/password or security
settings may be incorrect. Would you like to try re-entering youe password?"
User name and password are correct. It works in Outlook Express on the PC,
but not in Entourage.
Site says they don't support anything other than Outlook Express, so I
suspect it's a lost cause. But, I thought I'd ask (on the odd chance that
somebody knows what flavor of authentication they're using - and knows how
to get Entourage to use it).
