one way:
open "/Applications/Microsoft Office X/Microsoft Excel"

When I go to the /Applications/Microsoft Office X directory and run:
Microsoft\ Excel it says file not found and when I run ./Microsoft\
Excel it says cannot execute binary file.

Did you use "open"?
