Commandbar error?

When word 2000 starts I get an error "Commandbar" pop up fails. the problem
with WORD.EXE. Word then closes down. How do I correct this?

Likely it's a problem with some add-in rather than Word itself. See if Word
starts normally if you hold down the Ctrl key as you click on the Word icon?

If you know which add-ins you've installed, you can try to deinstall them...
at least temporarily to check if that fixes things.
You can also find a template somewhere on your computer called "support.dot"
which has a macro to help you track down problematic add-ins.
