Commands and Options enable - Portfolio Analyser

M

Mike

I have posted this problem before without a response:

When creating a Portfolio Analyser view the Commands and Options
menu/dialogue is available which enables you to format the report, and
to switch functionality on or off to limit user run-time modifications.
The problem is, having switched commands and options function off and
closed the dialogue box down, there does not seem to be any obvious way
to re-enable this command so that you can modify the report.

Thanks

I am able to confirm the problem that you are experiencing, and suspect this
is a bug. While editing a Portfolio Analyzer view, I applied the Commands
and Options dialog for the PivotTable, selected the Protection tab, and then
deselected the "View the Commands and Options dialog box in run mode"
option. After closing the dialog, I was unable to redisplay the dialog
again, even while in editing mode.

Examining the Project Server database, I cannot find a field anywhere that
seems to control the display of the PivotTable's Commands and Options button
on the PivotTable toolbar. Perhaps one of our SQL Server DB gurus can help
with this.

To solve the problem, I created a new Portfolio Analyzer view identical to
the problematic one and then I deleted the problematic one. I guess we
should be forewarned not to hide the Commands and Options dialog for the
PivotTable...unless we don't EVER want to see it again!

Thanks Dale - this problem has been around a long time I suspect there
must be a programmatic way of changing this setting
