Comment Box

I have a spreadsheet that contains what appear to be either comment or text
boxes that appear when certain cells are highlighted. I can not do anything
to them other than move them around. I can't double click on them or delete
them. I have tried all the options under comments and they don't do anything,
so I don't believe they are set up as comments. Any suggestions for deleting
or editing these would be appreciated.

Maybe they are Data, Validation input boxes. You can clear them from the
dialog.

Your problem may be that the spreadsheet is protected, which could be keeping
you from changing the comment boxes. Go to <Tools> <Protection> and see if
you have the option to <unprotect sheet>. If this option exists, then the
sheet is protected.

If no password is on the sheet, you could simply click on <unprotect sheet>
and press <Enter> when the password box appears. If the sheet has a password,
you will need to contact the original author of the sheet to see if you can
get the password.

Good luck!
