Comments in Microsoft Office 2007

When comments which have been hidden in a document created in office 2003 and
this document is then opened in office 2007 they are automatically shown on
screen (not what the sender intended).
is there any way to prevent this happening, any suggestions would be
gratefully recieved

It is the receiver that decides how he/she prefers to read their documents.
The only way to stop it is to remove the comments or send it as a pdf.
