Allen Browne has a paper on Converting to 2007 that is also known as "The
Good, the Bad and the Buggy!" Here's the link. It gives all the poop on the
latest version, including the bugs, workarounds and hotfixes, where available.

You can either stroll thru the entire paper, what you're looking for is about
3/4 of the way down, or in your browser goto the the "Find in this page" and
eneter

Access 2007 deletes the database when you compact it

and search.

Compact and Repair as explain to me, is a way of defraging you Dbase. if you
go to the properties of your Dbase and look at the actual size, lets say for
example it is 508mb, go to tools>database utilities>compact & repair and
select. Now go back to your properties of your DBase and you will see the
files were compress, and your files should be compress to a small size. As
far as repairing the Dbase, I am sure if that has anything to do with
debugging. But from what I understand, it wont hurt to frequently utilize
this tool.
