I am working with Word 2002 (XP) and am attempting to
compare two documents and once I go through the process
required to do this the document that appears shows
entire paragraphs as being changed when there were only a
few words deleted and added. I have looked in your
support database and it suggests installing Service Pack
2 but both SP-1 and SP-2 had already been installed prior
to my trying to compare these documents.
I have created separate documents with only one parapraph
from each document and compare them and I get exactly
what I want to see: the text that has not been changed
is black and the words that have been added or deleted
are shown as such with an underline or strikethrough.
Why does it show up differently when I use both complete
documents? Are there settings and/or formats I should be
changing or anything else that could cause these
documents to be read and compared differently.
