Your question is rather vague; what do you mean by "backward compatible"?
Word, PowerPoint and Excel 2008 can read and write files in the old binary
format that is the default for their equivalents in Office 2004 and earlier.
is MS office home, student teacher edition 2008 BACKWARD
compatible with Student teacher edition 2004?
