Compatibility 6.0/95

Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: intel

When I check compatibility it says word 6.0/95 compatibility options are set. I have set the preferences for word 2000 - 2004 and X and resaved the document as 97 -2004 doc and still have compatibility issues. How do I modify the document to eliminate the compatibility problems. There is a fix button but it does not function

Disregard the error :)

It's a bug.

What it should be saying is "You are saving this document in the old file
format. Are you sure you want to continue? If you do, artefacts that
cannot be edited in older versions of Word will be down-converted to
read-only objects."

Cheers

I'm having the same issue... saving a document on a mac and then sending it
to tmy work pc running Word. The Leopard is telling me I have a
compatibility issue when saving it, i have tried saving anyway, but when I
send the document to my work pc (running word 2003) i am unable to open it as
a word document... Windows word automatically brings up the 'File Conversion'
option and I have lines and lines of useless characters..

I've been doing most of my work on the mac since i got it as I've been going
between offices, its not going to be fun if i need to type all this out again
:-(

I have tried chaning the preferences but with no luck

Word 2003 on the PC will open both .doc and .docx from Word 2008 without any
problem at all, provided that it is correctly installed.

See your system administrator -- the Word 2003 installation is not
recognising the correct file types. He can fix it for the whole company
with a couple of keystrokes :)

Cheers
