I too have installed the compatibility pack into my Office 2003 / Windows XP
system and only get the plug-in for WORD. Excel and Powerpoint still won't
recognise xlsx and pptx files repectively.
I have tried one of the other suggestions mentioned below about new version
of Windows Installer etc and removing the pack and re-adding it. No
Difference.
I have also found another techie recently with the same problem (which was
quite reassuring)
Any ideas please?
