"Compile error in hidden module: AutoExec"

This appears when I open any of my Office 2000 apps. I just had to reinstall
Office due to issues w/SP2 install, that required an XP re-install first and
the resultant necessity of having to reinstall all apps.

Is there away to eliminate this irritating message? Thank-you, and sorry
for the bother.

Hi =?Utf-8?B?UE1Q?=,

This is actually a programmer's newsgroup ("Development"). For future problems
of this nature, the office.setup or word.setup.networking would be the better
place to ask.

"Compile error in hidden module: AutoExec" indicates you have a template
loading at startup that's trying to execute a macro named AutoExec. This could
be your Normal.dot, or an Addin template (template in the Word.Startup folder)

You should be able to find out the location of the latter in Tools/OPtions/File
locations. MOVE everything you find there to a different folder, then try
starting Word. If the error message no longer appears, move the files back in,
one and a time, then start Word. When the message comes back, you've found the
culprit. You can either contact the company/person who supplied you with the
template, or if it's purpose is unknown to you, remove it again from the folder.
