Compile Error

J

Jaybee

Using Office 2007.
Everytime I open Excel I get the following Message: Compile error in hidden
module: AutoExecNew. If click help it tells me to click the module but I
can't and there seems to be no way to fix it. If I click ok the blank spread
opens.

When I close out of Excel I get the following Message: Compile error in
hidden module: DistMon. Same reactions.

Any suggestions.

Hi Jaybee,
Everytime I open Excel I get the following Message: Compile error in hidden
module: AutoExecNew.

Type Alt-t, i to open the addins dialog and remove the check next to one that
has a filename with pdfwrite.xla

Greetings Jaybee. The problem is most often caused by a problem with the
install of office and with have a macro, either in an auto opening workboook
or an installed add-in try to run. Jan's solution was to remove the most
likely add-in; If there are other add-ins checked and you don't need them,
unchecking may solve.

Or, you can repair office. Lots of ways to do so, from the simple to
complex. You'll find a set of suggested approaches at

Hi Jaybee,
Thanks for the suggestion Jan, however I don't have any check marks and do
not have any addin that says pdfwrite.xla

Then the file will probably be in one of Excel's startup folders. Do a windows
find for pdf*.xla and move the file elsewhere. Make sure you also search for
hidden files and in hidden folders.
