Majid,
What do you mean, "automatically [update] % complete when the file
opens"? Project has no way of knowing how complete a task is. I suppose
if you wanted you could set up a macro based on the Open event that
updated everything to the current date, but that doesn't seem very
realistic.

Hope this helps.

I am sorry not being clear. Let me explain again:
I have one master schedule with many projects. Each day I update all in
process tasks one by one manually. I was wondering if I can add a VBA code
then by running the micro all the in process tasks are updated as per current
date.
I hope it is clear now
thank you for your advise

Hi,

Look up teh help for the UpdateProject Method, it does what you require.

Or even easier, record a macro of you going to tools menu / tracking /
update project.
However, I see no value in doing this. How does project know if the tasks
are completed as planned?
Why bother tracking at all if this is what you are going to do?

regads,

Majid,
It sounds like Jan answered your last question (i.e UpdateProject
Method). However, I question the validity of automatically updating all
tasks to the current date. That says that work is progressing just
because time passes and that is rarely the case in the real world. Some
tasks are on track but others are not. If everything is updated through
the current date, why have a Project plan at all?

Why is that easier? It just shows you UpdateProject is what you need, you
will still need the help to understand the parameters.

Hmmmm. Often I find the help less than helpful in describing the parameters
and having actual parameters there is more helpful to me. That is why I
think it is easier. But I can see your point.

Thank you all. I think recording the micro is much easier
Thanks again to all of you trying to help me out
