% Complete for the Whole Project

I would like to be able to determine if there is work to be done on the
project, and if so, how much work has been done.

I have looked through tables, and documentation. I figure I have overlooked
it.

If you look at the Project Web Access, and look under the Projects menu, you
get a list of all of the projects. They tell what percentage of the project
is done. This is what I am looking for.

If I'm understanding what you are asking, you can open Project Pro, go
into Tools - Options and on the View tab, ensure that the Show Project
Summary Task box is checked. Then make sure that you insert the %
Complete field into a task view (such as Gantt Chart)
