I have been asked to create a summary report for annual anniversary
celebration, 3 take place around the country and the participants are divided
by where they live.
On this report I need to:
1. show years of experience in certain jobs, by member.
A member may have taught at many places with the same job title. These jobs
are listed by job location with fields (and sample information):
RecordNumber (1)
MemberLookup (D. Vito)
Occupation (Teacher)
Location (Albequerque, NM)
DateTo (8/5/1979)
DateFrom (5/7/1983)
RecordNumber (2)
MemberLookup (D. Vito)

I need to count a grand total of years for each job. So if a member was a
teacher for many years and a principal for many years but at many different
places, I need the database to calculate the total years as teacher and total
years as principal for the report.
2. Count the number of people celebrating their anniversary separated by
location.
This would appear as:
NY
25th - 3
50th - 5
75th - 2
CA
25th - 1
50th - 2
75th - 0
etc.
3. show the number of people born in the same place by location.
This information would appear as:
BIRTHPLACE
NY
Chicago, IL - 5
LA, CA - 3
Atlanta, GA - 1
CA
Houston, TX - 4
etc.
YEAR OF BIRTH:
NY
1943 - 3
1929 - 1
1919 - 1
CA
etc.
JOBS

I have a table of customer information regarding all their vitals (name,
birthplace)
I have a table of people celebrating their anniversary: three fields:
MemberLookup
Anniversary (25th, 50th, 75th etc.)
CelebrationLocation (MD, NH, TN, etc.)
I have a table of ministry history (this is where I start to fall apart)
This table has each experience as a record tied to the member by autonumber.
I can do subqueries, most of the report has been ok. I needed much more
information then listed here and did ok with it.
I can generate a list of DISTINCT occupations (job titles) but not by
location.
I also specifically don't know how to:
Query to have the combined years of the same job in different locations
tallied up for an individual.
When I try to tally the number of folks celebrating their 75th at NY then I
get everyone celebrating at NY.
I think some help in counting and summing and then most of it will be
redundant.
I have looked at the help information within the program and it helped with
some things but now I am here...
If anyone is willing to assist, I would really appreciate any help you offer.
