Complicated Formula Problem

Thanks for your response...sorry the file didn't open, don't know what
the problem is. I can make the form work fine if I limit data entry to
one absence per row...and may have to do that. However, there are some
instances, for example, where a secretary may put the date span 9/5 -
9/9 in the Date column, then put a 5 under one of the absence types.
Even with this scenerio, the formulas will usually work. I can even get
the formulas to work OK when she enters an absence and new leave on the
same date in the same row. I really wanted to design the form so that
no matter what type of combination of absences and added leave the
secretaries put on a row, the form would properly add to and subtract
from the proper columns.

I may need to rethink the situation if someone else can't come up with
an alternate solution. Thanks Dave. I'm going to try and repost the PDF
file again.

Rather than use complicated formulas, a macro could do the
job. I might be able to help. Send me all relevant details
and sample sheets. Be specific.
