Complicated Request

Michael

Is there a way to create a project using excel, word, project, or info path?

The details I am looking for is the following.

1) Prompts for the name of the project, owner, date, etc
2) Asks a question - if yes - goes to step 1 - if no - refers to directions

With this basic information you can save it and be able to go back and track
the progress of that project - meaning the user must complete the stages
before they can proceed to the next stage of the project. I am trying to
develop a strategy to contain projects that have lost their communication
element and accountability, with this type of project outline I believe I can
track the progress the user has taken to complete their work with times,
dates, etc.

Thanks for the help in advance.

"Michael" wrote "Is there a way to create a project using...
"excel" -- Yes. Essentially, a WBS _is_ a project, and you can easily
create a WBS in Excel.
"word" -- Yes. See above statement; setup your WBS as an Outline.
"project" -- Obviously, a software application named "Microsoft PROJECT"
certainly has the capability to create a project.
"or info path" -- No. InfoPath is an application for designing FORMS.
"The details I am looking for..."
1) Yes, MS Project does these things.
2) No, MS Project neither develops your project plan nor tracks whether or
not individuals have completed their assigned tasks.

essentially, you should
really employ someone with
the "experience" in business
and business software.

however, because of the
software you have; one simple
method to describe what is possible
would be to use excel.

create a dialog (log)
that opens up without
any tools, additional
worksheets, etc.

then on it, place a
control button that
will save that log
and allow the
user to open/access
the project file at
the same time.

this is only a simplistic
method, but describes
the work flow you are
seeking, whether or not
you want to use excel or
another office module.

So can you point me in the right direction, resources, boards, etc?
