Components on the page have disappeared

My website has been running for quite a while without any problems. Now,
however, when I click Edit in the browser, what pops up back in FP is
incomplete. Various parts of the page are missing. I looked at it offline in
FP and the problem is still there!!!

What happens when you open your website in FrontPage instead of the browser
Edit?

It opens OK in Front Page! When I used the EDIT in the browser in the past
it worked OK - I haven't made any changes or anything, so I am really
puzzled.
