Composite CMYK PDFs from Publisher 2003 have a pinkish tinge

Composite CMYK PDFs obtained through Adobe Distiller are tinged pink no
matter which settings I use along the chain. Note that I have set up
Publisher and the Adobe postscript printerfor composite CMYK. How can I
overcome this?

Compose the Publisher document i RGB (Yes, RGB) and let Acrobat 7.0
Professional do the CMYK conversion using PDF X/1a settings (remember to
include the fonts).
This gives a far better result than CMYKing in Publisher, which as you says
give a pink colortone (grey becomes light pink).
Must have something to do with the conversion parameters in Publisher CMYK.
