Compressing Files

I have a 6MB file that I would like to email. When I Win Zip it it is still
5.9 MB. The Windows XP compress files works like Win Zip and doesn't make
the file small enough. I can't seem to get the file small enough to email.
Is there an easy way to do this? Easy to understand instructions anywhere?

What you are looking for is a file splitter. Google for file splitting and
you will find a number of such programs none you which I have used. You
would then need to send multiple emails and the file would need to be
re-assembled at the other end using the same or compatible program.

Have you considered just mailing the split file and multiple CDs or DVDs?
You could include the file splitting programs for re-assemble. Many such
programs are free.

Been years since I used Win Zip. It use to have a feature for compressing
and spitting a file over a number of floppies. Suggest you check the Win Zip
documentation/Help to see if it still does and if Win Zip will allow
splitting and saving to your hard drive for later copy.

You may want to check the documentation for any backup programs you have
{including Windows Backup} to see if they also could be used.
