Computer restarts while using Word

I cannot use my Word program because, right in the middle of writing
something the computer shuts down and restarts. I have had to quit using my
MS Outlook too. What can I do to fix this problem?

Check the Event Logs (Administrative Tools) for the error.
Then act on the errror or post back *exact* err

I opened my MS Outlook and waited for it to shut down my computer, then I
went to the Events Log. This information was on the top of the list so, I
hope this is the information you were talking about.

That is connected with the WinXP default CD burning feature. I believe the
event is as a result of win shutting down.
In Event Viewer, Action, select clear all events. Do the same for all three
logs.
Close out event viewer
Start Word and continue until sys shuts down. Then recheck event viewer
There will likely be a series of entries from win restarting, its the ones
(errs) prior to this that are of interest.
