concerning downloading word 2000 on new computer

I recently purchased a new computer. I am having a
problem getting word installed. The computer came
equipped with XP but I preferred the word 2000 that I had
on my old computer. When I tried to install it, it asks
for a key number which I no longer have. Is there anyway
for me to be able to use this on my new computer. The
mother board went on the old one and I didn't have a
chance to carry it over.
I would appreciate any help that I can get.

If Word 2000 was an OEM version that came with the old PC, then it belongs
to that PC and cannot be moved.

What don't you like about Word XP? It can be made to look and work almost
identically to Word2000 if you want.
