Hi all.

I've got a deep question about concurrent working. The question is: is it
possible for two people to work concurrently in the same project, through
microsoft project server? is it needed any special configuration/software?

Scenario:
- Server: windows 2k3 r2 + Sharepoint 3.0 + Ms Project Server 2K7
- Client: IE6.0 + Ms Word 2K3 + MsProject 2K7

Thank you for your time

Hi Harry,

I assume that you are talking about Project Professional. The answer to your
question is no. Only one person can work on a project plan in project
profesisonal when connected to Project server.
The project will be "checked out" when a user opens a project. The second
user can only open the project in read only mode
Hope this helps

By the time being another question has crossed my shiny day.
Am i obligated to create a work space whenever a i publish a project, for
the first time it is being published?

Thank you again.

P.S.: working in same scenerio as before

generally you can decide if a workspace should be created automatically or
manually. Depending on the version you have the use can decide to create a
workspace when the project is created the first time. In 2007 of example, if
you publish a project for the first time, a dialog window will appear asking
the user if a project workspace should be created
Hope this helps

I found the way to configure this capability.
In server configuration, access the section labeled "configuration of
workspace aprovisioning in project".

In this section select the option "let the users select wether create the
workspace or not", so when they publish the project for the first time they
can select any of the two options.
