Conditional Format

Phil

I have numbers listed in cells c5:c42 with some cells empty in the
same range. I want to format the cells that have an entry to be greyed
out and those that are blank to remain blank. When I Conditional
format these cells the empty cells are greyed as well.
Can anyone help?

Select cells C5:C42
Choose Format>Conditional Formatting
From the first dropdown, choose Formula Is
In the formula box, type: =C5<>""
Click the Format button

Select C5 to C42.
While all the cells are *still* selected,
<Format> <Conditional Format>,
Click on "Formula Is",
And enter this:
=C5<>""
Then set the format that you wish.
Then <OK> <OK>.
