Conditional Format

How can I request a cell containing anything with '>' changes to a
different colour.

e.g
In Column A cells contain numbers, text and the following '18>12,
'24>93' etc... The ones with numbers change to green, the cells with
text to blue and the one with '>' to yellow.

How can i perform this function in condition.

Please note, occasionally responses are sent as Macro, if in Macro, I
dont know anything about Macro which means I would notknow how to
start, open, edit, create etc Macros.

You have to go into format_conditional formating
In all case the condition needs to be formula is not cell value is
If the first cell you apply the format to is A4 (this format can b
copied down with paste special formats to the other cells)

Condtion 1 choose green as a colour if it is true =ISNUMBER(A4)

Condtion 1 choose yellow as a colour if it is true
=ISNUMBER(SEARCH(">",A4))

Condtion 3 choose red as a colour if it is true =ISTEXT(A3)

Thank you, it works but as a follow on...

How do I copy ONLY the colours of this particular column to several
other columns in the same row without copying the entire format of this
column.

e.g.

Condition 1 is green as a colour if it is true =ISNUMBER(C4)
but I also require cells B4,D4,E4 F4 too to become green if the above
condition is met though these cells do not contain the same data as C4,
etc
