Conditional Formatting - Excel 2003

Dan

Is there a way to use conditional formatting on a text field with leading
zeros?
For example, I have a department number of 00123 and would like to highlight
all instances of this number. When entering directly in to the dialog box,
the zeros are dropped.

Either write a ' before the zero's or better yet go to format cell, and go to
the bottom left where it says custom and write in by type this: 00####, and
press Ok, set this format to all cells. This should solve the problem. Let me
know if you need more help.

Just realized that the second way I wrote before is not correct. The best way
is to set it to text format, or write ' before the first number.

If you want to use the custom format, then do the following:
In the Type box, type a zero for each digit in the number. For example, if
the number has five digits, type five zeros.
