Conditional Formatting in Access Reports

I have an Access report with a date field that I have setup with Conditional
Formatting off the Format menu to be either red, green, or yellow font
depending on the date. When I run the report it works perfectly when I view
the report in Access. When I try to export the report to Excel or Word the
Conditional Formatting doesn't export, in Excel the font color is the default
that I selected for the text box. Why doesn't my text that displays red when
I run the report turn out red when I export the report?
