Conditional formatting

I have in the past used a way of formatting a cell due to certain
conditions.
I used more than the usually allowed 3 in Format > Conditional formatting
helper.
But I cannot for the life in me remember how I did it or where the sheet is
now that I did it on ( It was a few years ago)

Anyone with a refresher on how I might have done it ?

Since it was a few years ago, you probably used an Event Macro instead
of Conditional Formatting. Google this group and you'll find many
examples.

Depending on the formats you're using and the type of data, this method
can allow up to 6 "conditional" formats:

XL07 allows more than 3 CFs

No I'm pretty sure it wasn't a macro.
I think it was something like validation

If you do come up with it, please post your method here for the rest of us to
see.

You've got me stumped.

FWIW, I can't think of any way that validation would affect conditional
formatting.

I found it and yep as you originally stated it was an event macro.
I used it within cells that were in a validation list, that would explain
how I got confused.
Got it working how I needed.
Sorry for all the fuss and head scratching
BUT
Many thanks for the help and advice.
