Conditional formatting

I have applied a conditional rule to a 2nd & 3rd column of cells. To
highlight the cell in red if it exceeds the value of the cell in column 1
The rule descrition is:
'cell value' 'greater than' 'B7'
The problem I have is that I want each row to correspond to the cell in its
own row. Is there a quick way to format this in the worksheet or would I
have to do each row manually in turn.
I have tried copying the row, but the target cell stays at 'B7' whereas I
want it to reflect the row e.g. B7, B8, B9, B10 etc.
Hope I have made this clear enough, if not please help me to explain better.

Hi Bob,
I need to be able to format a lot of rows. I do not want them to all point
to B7. I want the cells in row 7 to point to B7 and row 8 to point to B8
etc.
Is there a quick way of doing this or do I have to format each cell to point
to the relevant cell? I have tried copy and pasting the cells but the all
point back to B7 not to the cell in their row.

Use the format painter. It is the format you need to copy, not
the cell.
