Conditional text formatting: if variance has x value

Hi!
Is there a way to automatically format text if the value of Finish Variance
(difference between Baseline Finish and Finish date-values) is more than 0
days?
Thank you.

Melissa,
Well yes, there is a way. As a matter of fact there are a couple of ways
but neither is necessarily convenient nor simple. Project does not have
very much flexibility with regard to text formatting so to automate text
formatting either a formula with paste linking or a VBA macro will be
required.

How about an alternate approach that is a lot easier. Instead of
directly formatting the text, try using a custom field with indicators.
It won't format the text but it will give you a unique color indication
of the Finish Variance you want. For more information on setting up
custom fields check the Project Help file or go to our MVP website at:
http://project.mvps.org/mike's_tutorials.htm
and check out fellow MVP, Mike Glen's series on Project lessons and
techniques. Mike covers customizing in lessons 14 & 15.

Hope this helps.
